Motorcycle Helmet Laws

Man wearing a full face helmet

The choice to wear a helmet, like most things in life, is a very personal choice. Some people never ride without one … others can't stand to ride with one. At Rocky Mountain Harley-Davidson, we prefer to let the individual rider make the choice for himself or herself. That's why we offer a large selection of helmets which meet the DOT and SNELL requirements, and why we'll be happy to answer any questions that you may have about them. That's also why we won't push you to buy a helmet if you choose not to wear one.

Whether you choose to wear a helmet or not, if you do a lot of travelling you may be required to wear one in specific states. Below is a chart of the various state-specific helmet laws. While every effort has been made to keep this chart up-to-date, laws in individual states can (and do) change. Use this chart at your own risk.
